The Bitcoin Shepherd House website (the "Site") is operated by The Bitcoin Shepherd ("we", "us", "the Host"). The information on this Site is provided in good faith and for general informational purposes. While we make reasonable efforts to keep the Site accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any information, services, or content on the Site.

To the fullest extent permitted by Danish law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, whether statutory, express, or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

2. Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency Risk

This Site accepts payment exclusively in Bitcoin (BTC). By choosing to pay in Bitcoin, you acknowledge and accept the following:

2.1 Volatility

Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset. Its value relative to any fiat currency (DKK, EUR, GBP, USD, etc.) can fluctuate significantly within short periods. We are not responsible for any financial gain or loss you experience as a result of changes in the Bitcoin exchange rate between the time of payment and any subsequent date.

2.2 Irreversibility

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. We are not able to reverse a Bitcoin transaction that has been sent to an incorrect address, and we are not responsible for losses arising from you sending Bitcoin to a wrong address.

2.3 Network Fees

Bitcoin Lightning network fees are outside our control and are deducted by the Wallet software and/or network before the payment reaches us. You are responsible for ensuring that the net amount received by us (after all fees) equals or exceeds the quoted booking amount.

2.4 Wallet Security

The security of your Bitcoin wallet and private keys is solely your responsibility. We are not responsible for any loss of funds arising from wallet compromise, loss of private keys, phishing attacks, or any other security incident affecting your wallet or device.

3. Exchange Rate Disclaimer

Prices on this Site are quoted in Danish Krone (DKK). Any Bitcoin (BTC) equivalent amounts shown are calculated using live exchange rate data provided by CoinGecko and are intended as a convenience indicator only.

• Exchange rates update in real time and may differ from rates quoted by your bank, exchange, or wallet provider.
• The BTC amount shown on your payment page at the time of booking is the amount we expect to receive for that booking. This amount is not a financial instrument, investment recommendation, or currency exchange service.
• We do not operate as a currency exchange and are not regulated as a payment service provider.
• Refunds, where applicable, are issued in BTC at the exchange rate prevailing on the refund date, not the original payment date. We are not liable for any difference in fiat value.

4. Property Descriptions

We endeavour to describe the Property accurately, including its facilities, features, surroundings, and local amenities. However:

• Property descriptions are provided in good faith but are not contractually guaranteed unless confirmed in writing as part of your booking.
• Photographs are representative and intended to give a general impression of the Property. Actual appearance may differ due to seasonal changes, lighting, camera angle, or subsequent renovation.
• Descriptions of nearby attractions, beaches, restaurants, and services are based on information available at the time of writing. We are not responsible for changes to third-party services, business closures, or road/infrastructure changes.
• The presence and temperament of the Karakul sheep cannot be guaranteed at all times. Animals may be temporarily removed from accessible areas for health or welfare reasons.

5. Availability & Pricing

Availability shown on the calendar is updated in real time and reflects our best knowledge of booked and blocked dates, including synchronisation with external platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com via iCal feeds. However:

• There may be a short delay between an external booking being made and our calendar being updated.
• Submitting a reservation request does not guarantee availability. We reserve the right to decline any request, including if a calendar conflict is discovered after your request was submitted.
• Prices displayed on the Site are subject to change at any time. The price applicable to your booking is the price confirmed in your approval email.

6. External Links

This Site may contain links to external websites, including but not limited to: Airbnb, Booking.com, CoinGecko, Yakihonne (for Nostr profile lookups), Google Maps, and wallet provider websites. These links are provided for convenience only.

• We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or reliability of any external website.
• Clicking an external link means you are leaving our Site and are subject to the terms and policies of the external site.
• Links to specific Bitcoin wallets or services are provided for guest convenience and do not constitute an endorsement, financial recommendation, or endorsement of any particular product.

7. Third-Party Services

This Site uses a number of third-party services to deliver its functionality. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of these services:

• Google Fonts: Typography served from Google's CDN. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Leaflet / OpenStreetMap: Interactive map. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence.
• CoinGecko: Live BTC exchange rate data. Rate data may be delayed or temporarily unavailable.
• Altcha: Proof-of-work captcha to protect the admin login. Operates entirely between your browser and our server — no external calls.
• Nostr relays (Damus, nos.lol, relay.nostr.band): Decentralised social relays. These are independent operators and we have no control over their uptime or content policies.
• Cloudinary: Image hosting and delivery (for property photos). Subject to Cloudinary's terms of service.
• Hostinger: Web and database hosting. Subject to Hostinger's terms of service and data processing agreement.

8. No Financial or Legal Advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional advice. In particular:

• Any reference to Bitcoin, its exchange rate, or its use as a payment method is not a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell Bitcoin.
• Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may be subject to regulation in your country. It is your responsibility to ensure that using Bitcoin to make payments is lawful in your jurisdiction.
• We are not a licensed financial institution, payment service provider, or money service business.

9. Health, Safety & Personal Risk

The Property is a working farmstead. Guests are advised:

• Farm environments contain inherent hazards including uneven terrain, farm equipment, and livestock. Guests access farmland areas at their own risk.
• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when outdoors, near animals, or near farm buildings.
• The Karakul sheep are generally docile but are still animals and may behave unpredictably. Do not approach or feed animals without the Host's guidance.
• The Property is located in a rural area. Emergency services response times may be longer than in urban areas. Please familiarise yourself with local emergency numbers (Denmark: 112 for all emergencies).
• The surrounding countryside, river, and natural areas are used at guests' own risk. We recommend appropriate footwear and awareness of weather conditions.

We carry appropriate public liability insurance for the Property. However, we are not responsible for personal injury arising from guests failing to follow safety instructions or engaging in activities beyond the scope of normal accommodation use.

10. Technical Availability

We strive to keep the Site and booking system available at all times. However:

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Site, the booking system, or the payment page.
• The Site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, Hostinger infrastructure issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
• If the Site is unavailable, please contact us directly by email to make or manage a booking.
• We are not liable for any loss arising from your inability to access the Site or complete a transaction due to technical issues.

11. Nostr & Decentralised Services

The Site integrates with Nostr, a decentralised and censorship-resistant social protocol. We note the following specific limitations:

• Nostr relay servers (such as relay.damus.io, nos.lol, and relay.nostr.band) are operated by independent third parties. We have no control over their uptime, content policies, or data handling practices.
• Content published to Nostr relays is potentially permanent and publicly accessible. Once a review or note is broadcast to the Nostr network, we cannot guarantee its removal from all relays.
• We are not responsible for any content published directly to Nostr by guests, third parties, or automated systems that we did not create.
• The Nostr protocol is experimental and evolving. Its future availability and feature set cannot be guaranteed.
